Selecting the right instructor for your child is crucial to their success. In the beginning stages, a personality match is just as important as the musical approach. A child needs someone they enjoy being around, who is also knowledgeable, encouraging, and patient.
Before taking on a new student, I always discuss the child’s background. How old are they? Did they express interest in playing the guitar, or do you want them to play an instrument? What is their school workload like? Do they play sports or involved with extracurricular activities? The student’s age, desire, and available time to practice will determine the approach.
I’ve worked with children of all ages with varying levels of interest. Some of my most significant achievements have involved transforming children with no initial interest into great guitarists. So contact me using the form below to learn more.
